Celebrate all the seasons of life.

Every season bears its own struggles and triumphs, and each one fortifies the next. While on a walk, I looked up into the trees that were sprouting spring buds and was reminded of how my children would hold out their arms for me to pick up, carry, or protect them.

And as they grew taller and stronger, I was also called to slowly release them in so many ways. It’s similar to the way winter holds tightly to branches that seem barely able … until spring reveals all the beauty that was developing all along.

This holding and freeing — that happens in waves while raising children — always melts me.

What season reminds you of special passages in your life? What season do you most value? Wherever you are, I hope you lift your open arms to the newness of each day.
